Multiactivity in Gressoney

Gressoney, beneath the beautiful Monte Rosa massif, is a very popular year-round destination for mountain sports enthusiasts. During the winter the valley is transformed into a Mecca for ski descents, ice falls and snow shoeing.

Experience all this in one week under the guidance of a UIAGM mountain guide, who will ensure that you learn new skills whatever your level in each activity, as well as having fun and staying safe. The week (6 days and 7 nights) includes two days skiing and one day each of: ice climbing, snowshoeing, sci di fondo and a day off to relax. More details on each of these activities below.

All activities will be carried out according to each person’s fitness and ability; there is something for everyone. To find other people to go with leave a note on the message board.

Ice climbing

An excellent opportunity to discover a magical world of frozen falls and to climb in this fairy-tale environment. Gressoney abounds in icefalls of all dimensions and difficulties, perfect for beginners to experts alike.

Skiing

Piste - Monte Rosa has 200km of pistes spanning across three valleys, which have fantastic views onto the Monte Rosa massif. There is something for everyone with 143km of blue and green runs, 47km of red runs and 10km of black runs. Thirty five ski lifts service the area.

Off-piste - Extending across the three valleys of Ayas, Gressonay and Sesia, Monte Rosa offers one of the best centres for off-piste skiing in Europe. Breathtaking views across the Monte Rosa massif on uncontaminated slopes and the possibility to undertake descents of all levels are what make this a Mecca for off-piste fanatics. The ski lifts take you up as high as 3260m, leaving you with exhilarating 2000m descents back down to the valley floor.

Sci di Fondo

A ‘clean’ way to experience the mountains without ski-lifts or cable cars, whilst enjoying the forests and scenery of the valley floor.

Snowshoeing

Away from the ski slopes and bustling towns, beautiful side valleys offer many opportunities for snowshoeing. You will walk amongst the pine trees, lakes and crests of these majestic mountains in complete tranquillity. There are itineraries for all levels of ability and fitness.
