Course level 1 - 5 days
This course is for complete beginners. You will learn the basic techniques of how to move on ice, safe rope work and good judgement. A reasonable level of fitness is necessary since the approaches are up to one hour long and the longer climbs require some stamina.
- Day 1 - Thoule, Valnontey. Grade 3. 45min approach. A good place to get to grips with the basics.
- Day 2 - Il Sentiero dei Troll, Valnontey. Grade 3. 350m. 1hr approach. A popular classic which is never too steep.
- Day 3 - L’Acheronte, Valnontey. Grade 3. 400m. Approach 1hr 30mins. A very nice line in a beautiful high mountain setting.
- Day 4 - Lillaz Gulley, Valeille. Grade 4. 200m. Approach 1hr 15mins. A superb and varied line up a waterfall/gulley with views onto Monte Bianco.
- Day 5 - Chandelle e levure Grade 4+, Valeille. 180m. 50min approach. A spectacular route that tackles a freestanding stalactite of ice in its last pitch to finish the week in style.
NB: The programme may be altered to accommodate changes in conditions or the level of the group.

Prices
These vary according to season; those below are approximate. If you let us know your requirements we can provide you with an exact figure (contact us). Prices include guide, half-board accommodation or self-catering apartment and all transport during the trip (including to and from the airport). They are based on 2 people sharing a room.
- With self-catering apartment of four: 868 Euros.
- With half-board accommodation: 1.148 Euros.
Equipment can also be hired if necessary.
