3 days - level 1

Above the clouds, from here you can admire a breathtaking 360° panorama across the western Alps, with snow covered peaks rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. After two days of acclimatisation this trip allows you to reach the summit of Europe’s highest peak. Two-to-one ratio with the guide.

This mountain was responsible for the birth of alpinism when it first triggered the curiosity and imagination of rich, adventurous tourists in Geneva in the nineteenth century: so we have a lot to thank it for! Two-to-one ratio with the guide.

• Day 1 - Departure from Courmayeur to Rifugio Torino (3462m) via cable car. From here we go to Col Flambeau (1hr) and ascend to the summit of our acclimatisation peak, Aiguille de Toule (3534m), via a snow slope. Overnight in Rifugio Torino.
• Day 2 - Back to Col Flambeau and across the Glacier des Geants to Rifuge des Cosmiques (3613m). The traverse itself only takes about two hours, but is a good opportunity for a skills development day; moving on glaciers and crevasse rescue techniques.
• Day 3 - Mont Blanc (4807m). An early wake-up call at 1am to leave the hut by 2am. Passing below Mont Blanc du Tacul and Mont Maudit, we travel up snow slopes to the reach the summit and views of Mont Blanc. Descent down the same route and then back across the Valle Blanche to Courmayeur by cable car.

How to get here

Milan and Turin are the closest airports, both about an hour and a half’s drive away. We can either arrange for you to be picked up from the airport or, more cheaply, give you details of how to get here by public transport. Please let us know your preferences once you have booked.
