Les Grandes Jorasses
2 days – level 2
One of the most famous mountains in the world. A rewarding peak which requires a good level of fitness, since you ascend on foot from the valley floor via a fairly long and demanding approach. Two-to-one ratio with the guide.
- Day 1 - From Courmayeur to Val Ferret and ascent to Rifugio Boccalatte (2804m). The approach is initially via foot-path, then up moraine and by glacier.
- Day 2 - From the refuge we reach the base of the Normal route on the southwest face of the Walker Spur. The extraordinary summit is reached via a glacier and then mixed rock and ice. 1400m ascent in 5-6hrs. Descent back to the refuge in approximately 4hrs. Descent back to Val Ferret (3hrs) and then Courmayeur.

Departures on demand mid-June-early September. Please book no less than 2 months in advance.
Prices
These vary according to season; those below are approximate. If you let us know your requirements we can provide you with an exact figure (contact us). Price includes guide, half-board accommodation and transport during the trip: 635 Euros.
How to get here
Milan and Turin are the closest airports, both about an hour and a half’s drive away. We can either arrange for you to be picked up from the airport or, more cheaply, give you details of how to get here by public transport. Please let us know your preferences once you have booked.
