About us
Mission statement
Alpine Logistics is a mountain sports travel agency based in the Italian Alps. It was created and is run by enthusiastic young climbers whose passion is the mountains.
Our aim is to make your trip as enjoyable as possible by offering you the benefit of our intimate knowledge of the area and taking care of all organisational aspects for you. Quality of service, safety and respect for the environment are fundamental to all our operations.
On this site there is information on the services we can offer, designed to satisfy all needs and preferences: from independent travellers to those searching for something more structured; experts to beginners alike.
You will be able to find partners to climb/ski/walk with on holiday via the various message boards, or keep yourself updated on the latest mountain news and conditions through our blog.
Who are we?
We are a small organisation run by Julia and Manuel.
Julia is British and moved to the Alps several years ago to be near her beloved mountains. Since the age of sixteen she has rock-climbed extensively throughout Europe and North America. Also an enthusiastic walker, in 2001 Julia organised a month-long independent walking trip to the Rocky Mountains in Canada. In 2002 she walked from Chamonix to Nice across the French Alps and two years later from west to east across the Pyrenees. In 2005 she travelled to the Cordillera Blanca in Peru; a fast growing Mecca for alpinists.
Manuel is Italian and lucky enough to have grown up here. Since the age of ten Manuel has explored the Alps on foot. In 1995 his passion for rock climbing was born in the Dolomites and for the last twelve years he has come to have an intimate knowledge of the granite and limestone walls of Gran Paradiso National Park, Monte Bianco and the nearby French Alps. Climbing has also taken him further a field to America, but his passion remains the wild and beautiful island of Sardinia. Also an accomplished ski mountaineer, in 1997 Manuel completed a traverse from north to south of Valle d’Aosta.
We have travelled extensively in pursuit of our climbing passion and came to realise how few people know of this part of the Alps, which is considered by many to have world class sites for a huge array of mountain activities. Lack of information has so far limited the outside world’s knowledge. We would like to turn this into a more international space by making it easy and enjoyable for people to spend their free time here.
